ISLAMABAD: The Indus Water System Authority (IRSA) said on Wednesday that an additional three per cent water inflow was recorded in the rivers since October 1. A spokesman for the authority has said that owing to the additional inflow, there will be no further cut in water share for Sindh and Punjab. Both the provinces will now face 17 percent water shortage, he said. He added that some 8.9 million-acre feet (MAF) of inflow in the rivers was estimated. However, the actual inflow stood at 9.1 MAF during the said period. He mentioned that the water inflow in the Indus River was recorded at 5.1 MAF, Kabul 1.3 MAF, Jhelum 1.8 MAF and Chenab 1.5 MAF.
